How To Book

Need some help to book a flight with Virgin Blue, Pacific Blue or Polynesian Blue? Well, you’ve come to the right place – for step-by-step instructions on how to make a flight booking online view our quick user guide.

Booking Methods

Online:
When booking on our website, each one-way fare is automatically $15 less per person compared with booking via our Guest Contact Centre (so you can effectively save $30 per person for a return journey, simply by booking online).  You can make a booking on our website 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  • Get started right away by filling in the required fields in the ‘Flights’ tab on the left hand side of this page
  • View our quick user guide for assistance to book online.
  • The following bookings cannot be made through our website and must be made through our Guest Contact Centre:
    • Bookings using a voucher
    • Using a credit note (even if original booking was made online)
    • Unaccompanied minor bookings (children aged 5 – 12 travelling alone)

Via Phone:
Our Guest Contact Centre is available 24hrs a day, 7 days a week to take your bookings or answer your travel queries.

Through A Travel Agent:
Almost every travel agent across the country can book a flight with us.

  • Contact your travel agent during business hours for further details.

You can make a booking to travel today provided you do so at least 90 minutes before the time of departure for domestic travel, and 3 hours before time of departure for International travel. If you need to book to travel sooner, please contact our Guest Contact Centre, your Travel agent, or you can make your booking on arrival at our airport terminals.

For bookings on our international airlines Pacific Blue and Polynesian Blue, please refer to the information provided in the Flying Internationally section of our site.

If you wish to purchase an ‘Interline’ booking (a connecting service with an international partner airline) please contact your travel agent.

Our Fares

We have a range of fare options to suit all your travel needs. In Australia, we always advertise prices including taxes and charges. However, in line with industry practice in New Zealand we advertise the price excluding taxes and charges. Our website booking process displays applicable taxes and charges or you can ask for details through our Guest Contact Centre. For details on all our fare types, take a look at our Fare Type Guide.

Making a Payment

For most of our fares, full payment must be made at the time of the booking though if you wish to purchase a Premium Economy or Corporate Plus Fare through a Travel agent you will have the option to place the booking on hold for up to 48 hours.

Please refer to the following table for which credit cards we accept:

Card type Domestic Virgin Blue Bookings International bookings originating from Australia using $AUD International bookings originating from New Zealand using $NZD International bookings originating in the Pacific Islands using $AUD, $WST, $NZD or $TOP
Amex Yes Yes  Yes No

Alternatively, you can pay for your booking with cash at most travel agents, or at our airport terminals.

In line with industry practice, we charge a surcharge for fares paid by credit cards or debit cards. Payments by credit or debit card attract a surcharge per passenger, per flight segment, which will be added to the total price of your fare.  For further information, please refer to our Fees and Surcharges or your itinerary for applicable charges in the relevant currency.  .
